Baker's pretty well steeped in radio, show business and journalism. A onetime college editor at the University of Iowa, he hooked up as manager and offstage partner with the underground alternative Iowa comedy troupe, Duck's Breath Mystery Theatre, as the quintet moved to San Francisco 25 years ago in search of fame, fortune and middle age. "So far," notes Baker, "we're one for three." |

David Levin brings over a quarter century of arts and public radio management to KVMR, a noncommercial radio station in Nevada City (www.KVMR.org) serving the Sierra foothills and Sacramento valley at 89.5 FM and the Truckee/Tahoe area at 105.1 FM. Levin says of his new position, "This opportunity came at the ideal time for me-both professionally and personally. It represents an exciting relocation for me and my family. I look forward to meeting the entire KVMR community, rolling up my sleeves, and contributing to the station's progress at this important time in its history." He will oversee the station's 11-person staff, a variety of independent contractors and over 120 on-the-air volunteer "citizen broadcasters." |
