Bob Wright brings organizational skills and business acumen honed over three decades in senior management positions including considerable board leadership experience. Bob retired in 2002 from a dynamic energy career as a leading advocate for clean energy. Bob actively participated in numerous clean fuels government/industry counsels offering insights gained from a dynamic energy business background which transitioned to a role as Director of Government Relations. Bob joined the board at KVMR in 2001 and was soon elected to fill a term as President of the Board, was reelected, and then became Treasurer.

Bob also serves as Chairman of another local nonprofit, the Center For Nonprofit Leadership of the Sierra Nevada, whose goal is to help senior staff and board members of local nonprofit organizations, including KVMR, be more effective thru educational workshops.

Bob’s prior board experience included multiple terms as Chairman of the Board of the Oxygenated Fuels Association, a trade association, plus numerous committee chairmanships for the Methanol Institute, plus civic involvement on boards from schools to civic associations.

Bob and his wife Peggy, an artist, recently completely remodeled and expanded an 1879 Nevada City Victorian cottage where they now happily reside. Bob is passionately developing the gardens. Other interests include hiking, biking, skiing, golf, reveling with friends and family and appreciating the extraordinary natural beauty and vibrant experiences offered in Nevada City/Grass Valley and the KVMR listening area.
