A Member of KVMR's Women's Collective
Peggy Bean has worked in the alcohol and drug recovery field for the past 25 years. She started her career at the Sierra Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependencies' Kings Beach Residential Treatment Facility for Women, and currently works as an analyst for the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs in Sacramento.
Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, Peggy has resided in California since 1972 - 25 years in the Truckee-Tahoe region and currently in Sacramento, CA. Peggy has been an avid listener/supporter of KVMR since 1990 when she began her commute to Sacramento from Truckee to work for the State. She is a member of the Women's Collective at KVMR and enjoys producing shows focusing on women's issues and music.
Besides serving as a member of KVMR's Board of Directors and her volunteer broadcasting position with the Women's Collective, Peggy enjoys gardening, animal rights activism, and working for peace and justice with the Sacramento Peace Action office, and her monthly folk jam with friends at her 100-year-old farmhouse in Antelope.
